I think as long as you treat them with the same love, dignity and respect you would give to a child that is your own, and you raise them with love and care, take the time to get to know and bond with them, and, if they are an older child who will be aware of the situation, let them know that you are not trying to replace their biological parents,…[Read more]

When I’m browsing for new books I tend to look at the spines along a shelf and if I find something that looks good I then read the back, if it then looks like it would be interesting (it doesn’t even have to be something that I would generally read, as long as it looks like a good read) i will then just delve in

Hi All! Does the topic “Timeout Tuesday” imply that there should be one day of the week that time outs are administered? I am asking because I initially clicked on a topic related to parenting styles. All I know is I wish time outs were only needed once a week. Nonetheless, I’ve learned through trial and error that over using time outs is…[Read more]

If it is one of my favorite authors, I probably won’t even read the back cover and just go straight into it. Or it is one of my favorite genres and the back looks interesting enough, I’ll just go for it.

My favorite book of all time is still definitely still the Harry Potter series. Obviously that is seven books and not one, but I pretty much love all of them just the same. I have read the entire series multiple times and I am sure it will always be a favorite.

After commenting earlier, I am now on the search for a really good book to read next. Anyone have any suggestions?? I am looking for a non fictional, sappy book. I figured this would be the place to ask! 🙂

If you haven’t already read “A Child Called It”, I would suggest it. It is probably one of my favorites of all time. As sad as the story was, the author did an amazing job catching the readers eye, and wanting to know more, to continue reading. After reading that story I felt horrified, yet relieved (at the end), and it made me cherish the family…[Read more]

I think making time to bond with the child can really help. Get to know the child, know what they like, don’t like, what upsets them, what makes them happy, etc.. Remind youself that thats a child, and they are looking up to you as their mother. Do things for that child, that you would do with your own child. With time and patients, and bonding, I…[Read more]

This reminded me of a time when I went to a little seminar like event and there was a speaker there and she was talking about all of these parenting issues and giving advice, and towards the end of the speech she revealed that she did not have children. It was pretty alarming to everyone, but afterwards it took nothing away from the tips that she…[Read more]

showing other women how to deal with kids that are not there own. And still be able to show them love even though its not their child. Also being nice and kind to the child as well as discipline them as well.

I would say first thing is to stop running from cps, and fix the reason why cps is wanting to take them away from you. You need to work with cps. Get your life together first and get a place that you can adequately care for your children. You might have work hard at doing it,but in the long run you will be happier, your kids will be happier.

What is your favorite book that you have ever read. It can be a book that you read in your adult life or as a child.

I just finished Margot, it was about how Anne Frank’s sister life would of been if she survived the holocaust and came to live in america. It was a page turner, being a work of fiction I found it sad because it really made you think about how many peoples dreams and lives where lost because of the holocaust.

I have recently read ‘A Very Long Engagement’ and was enthralled by the pace and the way the author, Sebastian Japrisot, weaves the plot. I will not tell the story line for the sake of those who are yet to get a hand on it. But it is a post World war I story of a girl setting out in search of her Love in her wheelchair. just read it please and you…[Read more]
